ABC had the top broadcast last night during the VP debate, with 13,130,000 Total Viewers. ABC edged NBC, which had 12,820,000. CBS had 11,100,000.

FNC was the top cable network, coming in at a network-record 11,098,000.

This was ABC’s highest rated VP debate since 1992. But as a whole, the ratings shatter the top-rated VP debate of all time, in 1984, which had 56.7 million total viewers.

This debate had more than 71 million total viewers, enough to be the second highest rated debate ever (behind 1980).

In post-debate analysis, FNC was #1, followed by ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and MSNBC.

Breaking: FNC averaged 11,098,000 Total Viewers during last night’s vice presidential debate, most among the cable networks and the highest viewership in the network’s 12 year history.

CNN averaged 10,685,000, and MSNBC averaged 4,412,000.

FNC’s previous high in Total Viewers was in 2003. This was also the highest ever Total Viewer average for FNC during prime time.

In the A25-54 demo, CNN won among cable channels. CNN averaged 4,522,000 in the demo, compared to 3,751,000 for FNC and 1,863,000 for MSNBC.

Nielsen is reporting last night’s VP debate is registering a 45.0 in the 55 (out of 56) metered local markets, putting it significantly ahead of last week’s presidential debate. The figure also means that 45% of households were tuned to the debate last night.

Well I guess your money and mine will get to take care of the loser MILLIONAIRE CEOs, Managing Directors, Directors, Presidents and Vice Presidents on Wall Street, who jeopardized the jobs of thousands of their regular employees, and froze the credit markets for millions more around the country, while collapsing banks and brokerage firms.
